Stromer ST5 Pinion Launch Edition 2024

In december 2023 Stromer introduced its renewed ST5, once the flagship of her fleet until the ST7 took over.

The new ST5 features 2 Stromer premieres: a one-piece carbon-reinforced polyamide front fender which can be elongated with an extra piece and the so-called Stromer Sound: a soundbox below the downtube which produces specific warning and notification sounds when starting, closing off or charging Your bike (we expect more in the future). This way the cyclist can hear his actions as well.
Also it is the 1st ST5 with Gates beltdrive and a Pinion Smart Shift 9 speed gearbox at the cranks. The Smart Shift had it's world premiere on the Stromer ST7 Launch Edition 2022 although with 12 gears.

The bike is low on maintenance due to this belt and gearbox, the latter requiring an oilchange every 10.000 Kms. Two pushbuttons on the right of the steeringbar electrically shifts the gearbox, it feeds from the main battery.
All Stromers feature a strong rear wheel motor: this one 850 W / 48 Nm. It is fed by a removable intube 983 Wh battery in the downtube. The Omni C touchscreen display is crafted in the upper tube: a less ergonomical place.

The bike is standard equipped with Blubrake's ABS on the front wheel, the control unit of which houses inside the upper tube. ABS is an important safety feature.
Comfort is only derived from the fat Pirelli tyres, optionally front- and saddle suspension are available for about € 1.235. The steeringbar is combined in the non-adjustable a-head (which includes a SP Connect phoneholder): no additional steeringbars nor a-heads with different rise are available. So a testdrive is strongly recommended.

Like all Stromers there is a lot of connectivity via Mobile phone network (CAT M1) and Bluetooth via the display and Omni App on Your phone. Keyless battery ejection, Smartlock, personalized motorsupport settings, remaining range, GPS location, over-the-air updates and Your personal statistics. Tripple anti-theft: 1e cycling is not possible without unlocking on Your app or pincode on the display, 2nd when stolen a SMS or email is send to You. 3rd via GPS the location of Your bike can always be tracked.

Lights: Stromer's own signaturelight with USB charging port for navi or phone, the newest Supernova headlight with daytime running light, low- and highbeam. The frame comes in 3 sizes but only in the "Sport" version: a low stepthrough version "Comfort" is not available. Rims: Stromer 27,5 x 35 by Rodi. Standard a rear carrier is fixed for max. 22.5 Kg.
